This chair is based upon an extraordinary chair
which is on display in the Winterrhur museum in
Delaware. It is the earliest upholstered chair in
their collection. Chairs like this were much more
common in England than in the colonies. The

This fine chair was copied from a set of chairs that are on
display at The Bethpage Restoration on Long Island.
They are constructed of maple and finished with water
based lacquer.
