Chestnut Pedestal Tables
Here are two examples of pedestal tables made with segmented
tops. The 1/4" thick pie cut segments are glued to a stable
fiberboard and the whole top is bordered with eight segments of
solid wood. The table on the left is made from 1830 chestnut
resawn from hand hewn barn timbers. The table on the right is
made from weathered chestnut barn siding. Both tables are
finished with water based varnish.
